The old adage that heat pumps don’t work in below freezing temperatures can finally be put to rest. Powered by Bosch inverter technology, the Bosch Home Comforts IDS Ultra Cold Climate Heat Pump can provide 100% heating down to an outdoor temperature of 5°F. If the temperature drops below 5°, the IDS Ultra will continue to initiate heating even down to -13°F. Available Q3 of 2024, the IDS Ultra is available up to 5-ton capacities and meets the requirements from lab to field testing as part of the DOE's Cold Climate Challenge.
